The Delaware County Equalization Board met in Regular session on April 29, 2009 at 8:30 A.M. with the following members present: Jacqueline Wright-Chairwoman, Art Shackelford-Member, Don Youngblood-Member, and Secretary–Carol Fortner.  Chairwoman-Jacqueline Wright called the Meeting to order and the following business was transacted.

 

A motion was made by  Art Shackelford and seconded by Don Youngblood to approve of the Board of Equalization Agenda of April 29, 2009 as posted. All voted aye. Motion carried

 

A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Don Youngblood to review the formal appeals on property assessments for the following properties:

 

                Jimmy and Imogene Bauer property-Mr. Bauer appeared and submitted reasons for protesting assessment value on his property.  Mr. Bauer built a new home(2200 sq. ft.)  and stated that the Assessment on the home is correct however the portion of the assessment on the labor for construction was not warranted and he felt that he should not be taxed on the labor.  Assessor Leon Hurt stated that construction, labor and materials were figured at cost.   Art Shackelford will be visiting the property.  Possible final decision to be made in the May 13, 2009 meeting regarding this property.  All voted aye. Motion carried.
