The Delaware County Equalization Board met in Regular session on May 14, 2008 at 8:30 A.M. with the following members present: Jacqueline Wright-Chairwoman, Art Shackelford-Member, Don Youngblood-Member, and Secretary–Carol Fortner.  Chairwoman-Jacqueline Wright called the Meeting to order and the following business was transacted.

 

Motion was made by  Art Shackelford and seconded by Don Youngblood to approve of the Board of Equalization Agenda of May 14, 2008 as posted. All voted aye. Motion carried

 

A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Don Youngblood to approve minutes of regular meeting dated April 30, 2008.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

 

A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Don Youngblood to deliver final decision on Formal Appeal on the following properties: Gene & Tommie Bottorff  property-Property valuation will stand as is-no change will be made by the Board of Equalization.  Mark & Darlene Mullin property- Property valuation will stand as is-no change will be made by the Board of Equalization.  Peggy & Homer Hutchison property-Property valuation will stand as is-no change will be made by the Board of Equalization. All voted aye. Motion carried.

 

A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Don Youngblood to review the formal appeals on property assessments for the following properties:

 

                Gary & Diane Manning Property-Mr. Manning appeared and submitted reasons for protesting assessment value on his property located at Honey Creek View.  Land was purchased in 1999 for $25,000.00 and is lakefront- but restricted by bluff - property with a dock.  Home was built with salvaged materials for $35,000.00 by owner and was formerly appraised at $120,000.  The current valuation is $189,000.00 by assessor.  Owner stated that he feels that the property could be appropriately assessed at $129,000.00 to $139,000.00.  Don Youngblood will be visiting the property.

Kevin & Kim Williams-No Show

 

Possible final decisions to be made in the May 21, 2008 meeting regarding these properties.  All voted aye. Motion carried.

 

A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Don Youngblood to review/approve of the Delaware Co. Five Year Manufacturing Exemption Applications for 2008.  All voted aye. Motion was carried.
